Our Purpose

Let’s share the load

Corporate leadership is challenging and it’s time consuming. We believe that many potential leaders are put off by the long hours and the toll it might take on their work/life balance.

Cassiobury is designed to help answer that problem - while managing work life balance for its executives too.

By leveraging the skills of senior executives who want to step out of the relentless pace of full time work, Cassiobury aims to lighten the load of those still in the game.

Rhiannon’s story

I loved my role as CEO at Kiwi Wealth - I loved the team, the purpose and what we were achieving together.

Following my exit post the sale, I went on a three month sabbatical with the family and thought long and hard about what I wanted to do next.

The ambitious part of me longed for another CEO job but the more time I spent with the children, the more I realised how fast they were growing up - it’s a cliche, I know.

I don’t regret spending time in the office over the past ten years since I first had kids but I also know that I’d like to be around at home a little bit more over the next ten. I’ve thought long and hard about the most valuable way to contribute executive skills but without the 50 hours plus of commitment. I know Cassiobury work will have its peaks too but hopefully not week in and week out like a CEO role demands.

In many ways this is a play on fractional leadership and similar models already exist out in New Zealand for other industries. It is partly inspired by #workschoolhours in which I am also a fervent believer. I hope to build the company out for others - so that we can all share the load at different parts of our careers and consequently, our lives.

Why Cassiobury?

Cassiobury is the name of the area I grew up in back in the UK. I lived on Cassiobury Park Avenue, I played in Cassiobury Park, I went to Cassiobury Junior School. As much as a Sino-Welsh heritage, English born, New Zealand naturalised woman can make any claim to Te Ao Māori, it is my turangawaewae.
